Pat O'Neill

I'm Pat O'Neill. This blog catalogues my projects in the miniature wargaming hobby.

By day, I earn my living building software for the web, managing teams of software engineers, and - most importantly - being a proud husband and father. By night, I unwind by painting miniature soldiers made of plastic and metal - human and non-human alike - and, when I can find the time, fighting battles with them!

For a while now, I've been trying to think of the best way for me to share my projects in the miniature wargaming hobby. I considered social media (e.g. Instagram), but the notion of turning over this record of my many hours of work to someone else's profit engine was a bit of a turn off.

So, I started a blog.

My Hobby #

The Brotherhood and Undead in a Kings of War (Second Edition) battle

In my hobby, I am mainly focused on 28mm scale games. My current focus is Kings of War for its clean ruleset and the creative modeling opportunities that come with large unit bases.

In addition, my hobby incorporates a variety of individually-based fantasy miniatures for games like Frostgrave or Rangers of Shadow Deep. Sometimes, I work on sci-fi miniatures for games like Kill Team or Deadzone.

Finally, I dabble in 15mm historicals useful for a range of rulesets like Lion Rampant and Saga.

I hope to keep a semi-regular pace of updates as well as a clear set of tags to aid navigation. An Atom feed is available for all your subscription needs. I like to use NewsBlur for that.
